Here are some facts about the Keystone Pipeline:

• Keystone XL pipeline would carry oil from western Canada to oil refineries on the Gulf Coast
• The pipeline is being proposed by the Canadian oil company, TransCanada
• It would carry 830 thousand barrels of petroleum per day
• Keystone would act as a shortcut for existing pipelines
• It would create 42,000 jobs initially, but less than 50 of these would be permanent positions
• The oil would come from the controversial Canadian tar sands
• President Obama vetoed initial legislation on Keystone on February 24, 2015
• The Senate failed to override the veto on March 2, 2015
• Keystone XL could still pass as a rider on another piece of legislation
